This site is located near the Carlisle Indian Industrial School in Pennsylvania. One of the most prominent issues throughout history within the North American region is the assimilation of Native Americans, particularly through education. This often came in the form of Christian led residential schools which displaced young native american children from their families, retraining them to adopt foreign cultures and in the process losing their own.
