Recommendation by Nilofar Alenjery, 3rd Year Studio Professor
December 26th, 2019
I have been working with Dan over the last semester and it has been such a rewarding experience to work with a student with such passion and broad outlook towards architecture. Since I have known him, Dan has demonstrated academic and design excellence on multiple levels. Not only is he very creative but also he has what it needs to become a successful architect later on. His attention to detail and critical decision making is outstanding for his experience. His work manifests a wide range of design thinking and technical skills.
Being a professional in the field of architecture myself, Dan fully embodies all the traits you look for in a potential candidate. On a personal level, he is a strong character who is able of developing unique ideas. Specifically, I was astounded by his critical thinking for my Arch 371 core studio class where he was challenged to respond to larger social/cultural problems in the world through an architectural project. His response was above and beyond a third-year student’s ability to date in my teaching experience, which I hope he shares the details of that project with you later in his design portfolio.
I have absolutely no reservations about recommending Dan for the position you are looking for. I have no doubt he will uphold the standards of Perkins Eastman and become a shining member of your creative team.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding his character, past academic work, or any other qualifications related to the position.
Sincerely,

Recommendation by Darryl Booker, 2nd Year Studio Professor:
February 21, 2019
It is my pleasure to write this recommendation on behalf of Daniel whom I have gotten to know as a student in my beginning design studio and beginning drawing class Fall 2018.
Daniel is a very attentive student, paying close attention to both lecture and written assignments in order to grasp the full benefit of what is being presented. his attitude makes him a good student; he takes criticism well, and is enjoyable to work with, and willing to explore new ground for him.
Daniel is a curious person, and willing to try new things, he works very hard at expanding his body of knowledge, and understanding beyond what is discussed in class; Daniel is making the cross over nicely from fact based thinking to critical thinking and learning in the creative process.
Daniel appears to get along with fellow students, and works in teams well when teamwork is called for - this is a very important quality in architecture where most work is team based.
Architectural studies ask a lot of its students in terms of time commitment. In developing organizational skills, Daniel appears to have had or developed these skills quickly, as he appears to get his work done on time, meeting or exceeding the project requirements.
Daniel’s project results show great promise as a beginning design student demonstrating an understanding of the process including comprehension of and importance of new knowledge gained, critical design thinking, applying experiments in design, applying experiments in drawing and modeling, all necessary in the creation and expression of a project’s ideas.
Daniel is a willing participant in his education, he takes responsibility for his actions, and is a pleasant young man to work with - he shows great potential and will not disappoint!
With Regards,
Darryl Booker
